St George again
We headed back to St George over the weekend and had another great trip. The first ride of the day we went to the Santa Clara area to test our mud riding, hill climbing, cliff dropping skills. After returning to the truck Craig managed to get a flat rear tire (we decided that somehow it must have been Skinners fault). Because of the flat and lack of daylight Craig volunteered to sit out on the last ride (Area 51 backwards). This ended up being the best and most challenging ride of the day. The river had very recently been washed out and still had high water. Because of the lack of daylight I did not take any pictures of this ride (except for the upside down vehicle we passed in a ravine, sorry!
A special thanks to Tony Hale for the free rooms he hooked us up with!

St George Area 51 Ride
Here are the pics of our ride in an undisclosed area of St George. If you are lucky someday you may be shown where it is. It isn't easy to find... just ask Jason.

Total the Damages

This Moab trip will have to go down as one of the most expensive trips yet. We took three of Meat's friends along for the ride and even though they are great riders they needed breaking in. Nate, "140", is shown here trying to figure out why the lights went out and why Craig's KTM is on the ground. Brad had one of the more impressive wipeouts when he leaned the wrong way and rolled into a nasty crack. It is now his crack...Pete is just flat out pretty, don't you think? I caught this shot as the three European mountain bike babes with hairy legs went by. He says he didn't notice.
Seriously, we need a total of the damages on this one. We heard a lot of clanging as bikes hit rock. Lava - Robbers Roost
Another great ride, steep climbs, rocks, roots, fast single track, water, mud, and we got to save a guy on a 4 wheeler.

22 miles of HELL (FUN!!!)
Chris and I found one of the best single track mountain trails ever! It had everything required for a great trail; tight trees, technical riding, water crossings, old cabins, hard to navigate, uncrowded, very scenic... here I'll let the pics do the talking!

Craig and I went to hobble Creek today (because everyone else wimped out). The weather held until we were almost back at the truck. Craig about met his maker on the grill of a Ford Explorer that appeared to be heading down the same single track we were headed up on, scared the hell out of both of us, but we found out we were at the end of the trail that connects to a farm access road. We ran into a couple nasty downhills one of which sent me sailing, sorta. My battery was dead this morning so I had to start the bike the NayKid way with the kicker. Boy I appreciate the electric start when it works. We explored another route to increase some riding loops if so desired. Here is the map, not as sophisticated as Halestorms but it is from the forest service and I imposed our route over it.
You all missed out! Maybe Craig can get the only photo posted!

Hobble Creek This Saturday
Craig and I are putting together a hobble creek run on Saturday. Meet at my house at 7:45 am. Hobble creek has lots of single track and one deep beaver pond if we end up taking that route. If Halestorm goes then it is for sure we will. Could end up being in the 70 mile range so plan fuel accordingly.
Here is the map from the last time we rode it.
Ride Essentials List
OK we really need to start carrying more stuff on our rides. Here is a list of items everyone should be carrying to ensure they do not have to limp or walk back to the truck if something happens. What do you think? Is there anything missing?
Here is the link to the full sheet.

Albert Moser Loop
Well on this ride we experienced another flat tire... you can fix a flat with only a small crescent wrench, leatherman, one bottle of CO2, and a couple patches - just ask Jason. We still had fun as we found a new trail that offers a very technical climb (I took quite a few pictures, each picture has a story so you will have to ask us sometime to explain). The good thing about the ride it even though we were about 1.5 hours late getting home I still made it to my anniversary dinner without getting a divorce!
OK - Who can tell what is going on in the pic below?

Malad Summitt... but the trail is on the map!
I was able to go do a little trail maintenance (finding) with the Zen Master of Trails in the Cache area. I'm pretty sure I hiked as much as I rode on this trip. Here are the pics and a map.

The Highline Trail - South
It is hard to believe but Skinner had the privilege of riding a bike down a rocky trail for a guy that didn't think he could do it (then I saved Skinner from a certain heart attack by bringing him his bike so he didn't have to hike back up to get it).It was a fun ride on mainly a rocky four wheeler trail. We covered about 60 miles out and back on the same trail.
Here is a pic of the trail and the map of where we went.

I am Crag
I'm finally on the site. As for the name I chose for myself, please look up the definition of the name Craig. I must say that while I have yet to perfect the art of climbing crags, I have FINE-TUNED the art of tumbling down them. ckw

Fall Canyon
Did anybody say MUD? Once again we found our new favorite place to ride. Miles and miles of 4-wheeler and best of all motorcycle trails. Watch the signs (or go with Tony) or you can definitely get yourself lost. Family camping in the canyon would be fun with plenty of places for the family to ride and a stream with some hot springs (I wonder how hot they are.)
Here is how you can tell that Tony found this ride.

Malad Idaho Ride - June 2, 2007
Craig, Skinner and I went to Malad Idaho today. The trail part of the ride was great... maybe a little too much road riding to get to the good stuff. At the end of the ride we got separated and I tried to follow a non existent trail shown on the map. I love Idaho maps! Anyway all turned out OK and we met back at the truck.
Jeff says "The off camber side hills were scary as crap" not sure why they were at least 6" wide.

Jeff and I rode Bountiful pipeline today... great ride, no injuries, Skinners bike keeps getting better! Tried out the new flywheel weight on the 450... much better mountain trail bike now.

Mantua Ride May 28th 2007

Well we went to Mantua in hope of riding some newly opened trails... they were not open but we still had fun. Here are the pics I took as well as the ride map.
On the last pic lets see who can find Gary and tell us what he is doing.
Here are Jason's Pics.
